The Plan is Coming Together

There have been two meetings held by the settlement plan group and the results in a mere two weeks have been astounding!  We have secured a house, furniture and a vast list of community resources.  We are truly blessed to have committed and passionate people. This passion has allowed us to accelerate the settlement plan and not have one, but two families come in to our community in as little as a few weeks.  God has blessed our hearts.

Matthew 25:35-40

35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,[a] you did it to me

We can make a Difference!!

Would you like to help with our refugee project? St Alban The Martyr Anglican Church is partnering with Anglican Diocese of Niagara and the local Community in the hope of settling two refugee families in Acton within the next few weeks. Volunteers are welcome to help our families integrate within our community.

Donations to help ...fund refugees can be sent directly to the Anglican Diocese of Niagara at: http://niagaraanglican.ca/140anniversary/how-to-donate.php

Alternatively donations can be made to St. Albans and marked "Refugee Fund". Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more. Through the Diocese of Niagara fund, St.Albans will be participating in the BVOR Sponsorship option where the Federal Government will share the cost of sponsorship 50/50.

World Refugee Crisis

There are approximately 4 million Syrian refugees and 11 million refugees worldwide. This is the worst world crisis of all time. We are delighted and blessed to help a refugee family come to our community of Acton. We are welcoming the community to assist in supporting this initiative. The next meeting will be held at St Alban's Church in Acton on Tuesday January 12th at 7:00 PM.

We are grateful for every donation to assist in the safe arrival of our family.

Every $ donated to the Diocesan Fund is matched by the Federal Government and tax receipts are issued.

For every Refugee family being brought in the Diocese has to raise $12,500 and the Government contributes another $12,500 to have the $25,000 needed for each refugee family.

Refugee Settlement Core Team

We will form our Refugee Settlement Core Team and begin work on creating our Settlement Plan. If you wish to be a Team Leader or to assist a Team Leader in gathering information about necessary resources for settling a refugee family in our community please come along, - WE NEED YOU AND SO DOES A REFUGEE FAMILY LIKE THIS ONE.
